Samantha HauserCentral to my research is the application of ecology and population genetics to conservation of endangered species. More specifically I am interested in studying how anthropogenic threats (e.g., fragmentation, habitat loss, climate change) affect connectivity and population dynamics. Conservation works in extreme systems that often do not meet the assumptions or intended use of population genetic analyses. Thus I am committed in evaluating and validating population genetic statistics in their use in conservation as to ensure that results are accurately informing management actions.
